PCOS Awareness Association (PCOSAA), a worldwide non-profit support organization advancing the cause for individuals with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), is thrilled to present to the public the first ever PCOS CON event to take place on September 19-21, 2019 just outside of Washington, DC.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder that affects over 10,000,000 individuals of reproductive age. It is one of the most common endocrine disorders and is the leading cause of female infertility. It can also lead to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and endometrial cancer.
This conference intends to make PCOS a priority in public health; it affects 1 in 5 women and can have a long-term effect on their overall health, yet PCOS is highly overlooked by the public and medical professionals. This platform creates an avenue for people to learn accurate information, get support and to empower themselves as advocates for the cause. PCOS CON will bring together medical professionals, companies, organizations, researchers, hundreds of individuals with PCOS and their supporters for two and half days to share insights, information, the latest updates about the condition and experiences.
To add to the event, there will be high-energy and captivating guest speakers, fun activities, exhibits, presentations, gifts and guest celebrities on the agenda that will leave attendees feeling informed, relieved, empowered and entertained.
PCOS Awareness Association is joining NBC4 for the 26th year of the NBC Health and Fitness Expo where they bring you a chance to learn more about health, wellness and fitness — while having fun. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 3rd Annual World Congress on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Last year, 2016, the event was hosted by the medical professions and pioneers of PCOS awareness; the OMICS Medical Journal and PCOS Awareness Association. This year’s event will serve as a continuation of the excellent progress we made in our past conference.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Recent Advancements in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Diagnosis and Therapy.” An estimated 10% of women suffer from PCOS with most of them unaware of the symptoms. It is imperative that efforts of education, support, treatment and care begin with us. Our shared interest of this conference is to generate resources and share knowledge in our quest to bring awareness, educate and ultimately, care and support to the community affected by PCOS.
This year’s congress will feature engaging sessions by leading experts and speakers on Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Effects of PCOS on Women’s Health, Endometriosis, Ovarian Cyst, PCOS- Medications and Treatment, Alternative PCOS Treatment, PCOS and Pregnancy, PCOS in Teens and Adolescents: Early Diagnosis and Intervention, Medical Diagnosis of PCOS, Prevention and Management of PCOS, Advanced Management of PCOS, Recent Research and Current Advancements in PCOS Treatment and Advanced Polycystic Ovarian Diseases Treatment.
Our aim is to bring together professionals and experts of various specializations in our continuous effort to create awareness and provide treatment and care to women affected by PCOS. We are confident that this year’s world congress will yield active participation of Obstetrics Gynaecologists, Reproductive Endocrinologists, Pathologists, Research Scholars, Industrial Professionals and Student delegates from biomedical and healthcare sectors.
It is my privilege to welcome you to this year’s event. I encourage us to come together with the same zest and alacrity as last year to make this year’s world congress a monumental success. Change and progress begin with us.

PCOS can lead to serious health problems like heart disease and diabetes, if not taken seriously. Unfortunately, PCOS is not well understood in the medical field due to variation in symptoms and the fact that the exact cause is not known. Not all women experience or feel the same symptoms. With greater awareness, and get enlightened.
The name, “Women Walking Together” indicates the coming together of women to unite together, with similar passion to raise awareness and support other women. We believe this event will help them understand the facts about the disorder. Consequently, this will make a huge difference in the fight against PCOS.
The 5k Walk is an opportunity to educate women based on medical research, encourage them to make healthy lifestyle changes and empower them to take charge of their own health.
The month of September is National PCOS Awareness month! We are organizing a 5k Walk in locations across the country.

September is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month!
To kick off the month, PCOS Awareness Association would like to invite you to our 2nd Annual Reveal the Teal event; Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00am at Green River Community College – Grand Hall
Public awareness of PCOS is necessary because over half of the 10,000,000 women that have it, are unaware of it. They don’t know why they feel different or are having unexplained pain or why their Medical Professional is not giving them answers. The symptoms of PCOS vary with each woman so no woman ever thinks of it being a serious matter. Symptoms of PCOS may include irregular/absent menstrual periods, infertility, dandruff, oily/acne skin, weight gain, thinning hair, dark patches on skin, pelvic pain, etc. Many of these symptoms such as oily skin and pelvic pain are often ignored by women and Medical Professionals. If left undetected, PCOS can lead to Heart Disease, Diabetes, Breast Cancer, and Gynecological Cancers which makes it imperative for an awareness organization like PCOS Awareness Association to exist. Learn more at www.pcosaa.org
Come and enjoy this celebration of all women with PCOS and their supporters. Expect to be inspired, to meet others, to eat a delightful brunch, to shop with local vendors, hear wonderful guest speakers and to win awesome give-aways.
