Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), is a set of symptoms due to a hormone imbalance in women. Women with PCOS may have enlarged ovaries that contain small collections of fluid called follicles located in each ovary. Multiple cysts are formed due to hormonal imbalance.

September is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month! Join PCOS Challenge, Inc. and the Nu Chapter of Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority for PCOS Awareness Weekend 2016 - Atlanta at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The weekend’s events include the Fourth Annual PCOS Awareness Symposium and Eight Annual Bolt for PCOS 5K Run/Walk.

PCOS is a genetic, hormonal, metabolic and reproductive disorder that affects one in 10 women. It is one of the most critical, under-diagnosed, underfunded and neglected areas of health leading to type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and other life-long complications.

Join us to help spread awareness and help raise critical funding for PCOS research, education and support programs.

The PCOS Awareness Symposium presented by PCOS Challenge, Inc. will help women and girls affected by PCOS become proactive about their health and discover strategies and resources to overcome their symptoms and reduce their risk for life-threatening related diseases such as cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most critical, underserved, underdiagnosed and underfunded conditions affecting women’s health. The event will also help raise awareness and improve understanding of PCOS among medical professionals, women and girls affected by the syndrome and the general public.

Please join PCOS Awareness Association to turn the Seattle Great Wheel TEAL in honor of PCOS Awareness Month!!

We will meet at the base of the wheel starting at 7:30pm and at dusk the wheel will light up Teal. We will have a no host gathering at Red Robin at 8:45pm, next door, to celebrate and watch the wheel raise awareness of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Seattle. 

Where is the best place to park?
There are metered lots directly across the street from the wheel on Alaskan Way. You can also park in paid lots along Western Avenue. Please visit www.downtownseattleparking.com for up to date information on parking.

How much does a ride cost?
Adults (12) $13 plus tax
Youth (4-11) $8.50 plus tax
Children (0-3)* Free (still requires a ticket, go directly to the will call window of the ticket booth)
Seniors (65)* $11 plus tax
VIP $50 plus tax (per person)
*Available only at the ticket booth. Not available online.

Where can I buy tickets?
You can purchase them at the ticket booth on the pier or right here on the Wheel website (http://seattlegreatwheel.com/)! Just click on the Purchase Tickets tab in the upper right hand corner. If you don’t want to wait in the ticket booth line, make sure to print out your tickets at home and have them in hand when you arrive on the pier. If you only have a confirmation code, you will have to wait in the ticket booth line to have your tickets printed.

Come race with Santa and his reindeer. See if you can beat an elf to the finish line. Get ready to deck the halls and jingle bells to Jennings. It’s going to be hot outside but this race is cool!!

Stop dreaming of a white Christmas! Run through a 5k winter wonderland! Join Santa and all of the winter wonderland characters in the city of Jennings this summer for our second annual “Dreaming of a White Christmas…In July” 5k run and family fun™! , To benefit The Jennings Community Programs.
